Fit and finish on the Aero was stellar from the start, and the Honda's details don't disappoint in 2002. TheVLX engine, mildly tuned and with a compression ratio of 9.2:1 (compared to the Ascot's 10.5:1), is no powerhouse. Honda rates the 600 at 42.6 horsepower at 6500 rpm. At the drag strip, the Shadow turns—rolls, really— 14.73-second quarter miles at 86.34 mph. Even Yamaha's 535 Virago is faster than that.

The1100 Tourer is a good choice. Also the late model 1100 Spirits are geared higher than the Sabre and the Tourer models. Older 1100 VT will have a 4spd. gearbox though the first 2 yrs. were 5spd. Keep in mind the twin pin will not have that classic HD sound like the single pin versions.
